C switch Statements

C switch statement is used when you have multiple possibilities for the if statement.
The basic format of switch statement is:
Syntax:
switch(variable)
{
case 1:
//execute your code
break;

case n:
//execute your code
break;

default:
//execute your code
break;
}
After the end of each block it is necessary to insert a break statement because if the programmers do not use the break statement, all consecutive blocks of codes will get executed from each and every case onwards after matching the case block.

Example of a C Program to Demonstrate Switch Statement

Example:

printf
("Please enter a no between 1 and 5: ");
scanf
("%d",&a);

switch(a)
{
case 1:
printf
("You chose One");
break;

case 2:
printf
("You chose Two");
break;

case 3:
printf
("You chose Three");
break;

case 4:
printf
("You chose Four");
break;

case 5:
printf
("You chose Five.");
break;

default :
printf
("Invalid Choice. Enter a no between 1 and 5");
break;
}

}
Program Output:
c-switch
When none of the case is evaluated to true, then default case will be executed, and break statement is not required for default statement.

Java Method Overriding

Java Method Overriding Declaring a method in the subclass which already exists there in the parent class is known as method overriding. When a class is inheriting a method from a superclass of its own, then there is an option of overriding the method provided it is not declared as final. The advantage of using overriding is the ability to classify a behavior that’s specific to the child class and the child class can implement a parent class method based on its necessity. There are certain rules that a programmer should follow in order to implement overriding. These are: In Java, a method can only be written in the child class and not in same class. Argument list should be exactly the same as that of the overridden method of that class. Instance methods can also be overridden if they are inherited by the child class.
